7-year-old girl killed in shooting at Atlanta home

A tragic shooting occurred at a home on Tiger Flowers Drive NW on the evening of February 24, resulting in the death of 7-year-old Zoey Price. Her mother, a 44-year-old woman, also suffered gunshot wounds and was rushed to the hospital. Currently, the mother's condition is reported as stable.

The Atlanta Police Department received a report of the incident at approximately 9:49 PM. Upon arriving at the scene in the 2200 block of Tiger Flowers Drive NW, officers found both the mother and daughter critically injured. Due to a delay in the ambulance's arrival, an officer decided to transport Zoey directly to Grady Memorial Hospital in a patrol car, but she later passed away.

Police identify personal dispute as cause

Police Chief Darren Schierbaum stated that preliminary investigations indicate the incident stemmed from a dispute between two individuals that occurred about 30 minutes before the gunfire. The suspect returned to the location and fired into the house. Authorities confirmed this was not a case of domestic violence and the suspect is not a relative of the victims.

During a press conference, Schierbaum urged the suspect to surrender, while affirming that investigators are actively pursuing significant leads. The incident has also had a heavy emotional impact on first responders, with four police officers receiving psychological support after assisting at the scene.

The Atlanta Police Department is currently calling for community cooperation to quickly apprehend the perpetrator. Residents with any information related to the shooting are encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers to assist in the investigation and bring justice to the victim's family.
