FLORIDA — Stephanie Buttermore, a cancer researcher and influential fitness influencer on social media, passed away on February 25, 2026, just days after her 36th birthday.

The news was announced on Instagram by Jeff Nippard, Buttermore’s fiancé and partner of over 10 years. The news of this loss in the Florida area shocked many. The family has not disclosed the cause of death and has asked the public to respect their privacy.

Buttermore had over 525,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 1.2 million YouTube subscribers, where she shared content about workouts, nutrition, and women’s health journeys.

Beyond social media, Buttermore pursued scientific research. She earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences, specializing in pathology and cell biology, with her research focusing on ovarian cancer.

Before her death, Buttermore had stepped away from social media since 2024 to focus on improving her mental health. In her final Instagram post in May 2024, she shared that anxiety had once severely impacted her life but had improved significantly after stepping away from social media.

Buttermore’s passing prompted an outpouring of grief from the fitness community and her social media followers, similar to how communities have mourned other sudden losses in recent times. Many said her content had inspired women on their journeys to better health and body image.

Buttermore and Jeff Nippard became engaged in 2022 after many years together.
